Courses:

Presenting at Ubud Writers and Readers Festival and more, collaborating with venues such as The Magnet Theater and bookshops such as Kinokuniya Siam Paragon, and accumulating great support from press, from Harper's Bazaar to Bangkok Post, I am ready to contribute to other writers' lives. I'm offering courses based on what I found helpful completing my own manuscript.

Course 1: Deep-Work Manuscript Revision

-Private lessons

-5 x 90-minute online meetings over 2-3 months (exact dates customizable)

-both of us preparing seriously for our meetings

-USD950 or USD850 if you are in financial need—honor system

After receiving your manuscript, I read it from the start and stop where I lose interest and cannot regain it—a critical data point for you. That is how I would read, and put down, a published book.

In Meeting 1, we speak about your script honestly. Following that, you will present work that you've rewritten. Here's a more detailed breakdown:

Meeting 1: I share what stood out as strengths and weaknesses and suggest strategies that would deepen your story. This includes: the voice, the plot (including for memoirs, which, yes, have plots), and the characters. You will tell me what you're interested in improving and what you feel resistant to changing. We use resistance not to actually resist, but to understand what's hard to change. That resistance itself can be the important change to make. We will also see what feels easy to lean into changing, and we will allow it to be leaned into as well.

Meeting 2: We go through a revision of 5000 words (of a passage of your choice). We will both have read this revision before our meeting and made notes, picking key notes to share with each other during the meeting. We will discuss what feels stronger and why, how your body feels reading what you wrote, and what tone and voice are being shaped by the revision. In other words: we will look into the experience of reading your work and the experience of settling into and amplifying your narrative identity that drives the story.

Meeting 3: We go through a revision of another 5000 words (of a passage of my choice).

Meeting 4: We go through a revision of another 5000 words (of a passage of your choice).

Meeting 5: We go through a revision of another 5000 words (of a passage of my choice) and discuss next steps for you to move forward.

While other courses might divide into something such as

Meeting 1: Identifying the Core Theme

Meeting 2: Structure and Story Arc Refinement

Meeting 3: Voice and Scene

Meeting 4: Character and Dialogue

Meeting 5: Polishing and Next Steps

I don't see that as the most effective way to better a manuscript. It can perform a theoretical understanding of writing, when the completion of a great manuscript, in my opinion, requires writers to know themselves uniquely—better done through hands-on wrangling and an articulation and awakening of their own process on a conscious and subconscious level. Neat division of ideas can lead to more superficial knowledge, and that is not our goal.

My role will be to help you discover yourself as a unique writer in a way that is sustainable, interesting, and energizing for you. With that energy, you can work on your manuscript with or without me later.

The extra perk to having me be a part of your writing process is that, outside of my writing life, I am a trained and certified coach who works with psychodynamics. I know how to reach your subconscious with you, and that is an important part of unique writing.
